Sportcarriere is assisting an international client in the recruitment of 4 Logistics and Operations Manager for a major sport event happening in France this year on fixed-term contract.

Our client is currently looking for several Central Co-ordination managers to be responsible for the successful delivery of the Look, Signage and Wayfinding project for the event across all venues (competition and non- competition) as designed by the clients. Each position will have to manage some venues.

The role is not venue operations during the live phase of the event, our critical operational period is during build and bump-in, however, our period of high intensity operations will be from Mid-June to Mid-September. Preparation for this phase will require planning and management skills combined with a deep understanding of how to get things done in a major international sporting event environment.

Functions & Responsibilities
  • This role is reporting to the Operations Lead.
  • Establish a functioning warehouse operation hand to hand with the warehouse manager.
  • Responsible for the logistic operations and support for delivery of the project.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers.
  • Integrate the production schedule with the delivery schedule and communicate with the client to enforce with the production lead.
  • Learn and adapt our systems to book transportation.
  • Close working relationships with the warehouse teams to prepare the venue loads and ensure readyness for venue dispatch.
  • Working alongside the venue teams to understand trucking requirements materials.
  • Book mechanical handling requirements for the venues.
  • Ensure the suppliers and drivers understand the process for access and accreditation.
  • Manage the VAPPS and MDS requirements (with the ops team execs).
  • Work with engineers and manufacturers for installation and logistics of temporary structures.
  • Build relationships with suppliers to ensure quality control and regular reporting procedures.
  • Identify risks within the operational supply chain, provide mitigating solutions and options.
  • Create close working relationships with the clients’ teams in each of your venues.
  • Provision of all details to the operations team (to enable the booking of crews, equipment and deliveries).
  • Input data onto Quest and other IT systems.
  • Manage budget controls to maintain the expected margins.
  • Management of client expectations through reporting, clear communication and coordination.
  • Interact with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally in a complexe environment with high level of pressure.
Profile Requirements
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management processes and procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of site operations and ability to get things done.
  • Direct work experience in a complexe project management environment in multi-sport international events.
  • Experience in the operational planning, organisation and problem solving with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Creative thinker able to solve problems and provide innovative solutions to client briefs.
  • Ability to prioritise and think logically and methodically.
  • A “hands on” “can do” attitude with an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of materiel logistics and operational support (e.g : managing trucking companies).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (especially in Microsoft Excel & PPT) and Smartsheet proficiency.
  • Ability to work in databases
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite will be highly valued.
  • Must be fluent in French and have a decent level of English.

Salary package : Depending on the profile + a 10% completion bonus + an accomodation in downtown Paris will be provided for residents living outside the Paris region
