Sportcarriere is assisting On Location in the recruitment of a Director Opening Ceremony on fixed term contract or Independent Contractor.

Last summer, On Location and the International Olympic Committee have signed an historic long-term agreement that includes all editions of the Olympic and Paralympic Games until 2028.

On Location, has then become the exclusive provider for the official hospitality products of the Games at Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028.

Designed in collaboration with the Organizing Committee of each Host City, the Olympic and Paralympic hospitality products will provide a one-of-a-kind window into these world-renowned locations. Packages will include tickets, accommodations, experiences and unique hospitality offers at the heart of the Games and the hosting city.


As the Official Hospitality Provider of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, On Location will be offering a range of hospitality products, which include access to the Opening Ceremony.

The Director, Opening Ceremony is a key leadership role with a primary responsibility for developing and executing logistics and operations plans for the Opening Ceremony hospitality products.

This role will work closely with On Location’s Event Production and Product Architecture Departments in addition to Paris 2024 Ceremonies Department to execute a hospitality program that delivers exceptional spectator xpériences and maximizes revenue through a range of in venue and off venue hospitality offerings.

Functions and responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with the commercial Product Architecture and Event Production teams to develop and execute exclusive hospitality offerings for the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games ;
  • Directly responsible for execution of all phases of an event and its production (pre & post) and overseeing all aspects of the event to ensure high production value, maximum revenue and minimum expense ;
  • Work with Paris 2024 Ceremonies team to develop logistics and operations plans for guest ingress and egress including but not limited to: priority access through security, dedicated pathways to hospitality locations and security/access control into and out of hospitality spaces ;
  • Source and contract venues and vendors to support in venue and off venue hospitality builds ;
  • Work closely with the Catering team to define back of house needs and logistics to successfully execute F&B Plan ;
  • Manage overall event production budgets and timelines ;
  • Anticipate, establish, communicate and oversee execution of emergency procedures (as needed) ;
  • Work in coordination with the Creative Development team to ideate and render hospitality space for promotional and marketing materials ;
  • Identify potential sponsorship assets and “in kind” opportunities ;
  • Encourage and support use of sustainable products, when available ;
  • Identify, recruit, train and develop a team of individuals who can lead event production efforts.
Profile requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Sports Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required ;
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in managing and producing events from inception to completion in its entirety ;
  • Prior experience delivering complex hospitality operations at large-scale events ;
  • Intimate knowledge of the Paris and French event and hospitality industry ;
  • Speaks fluent French and English; other languages encouraged ;
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills ;
  • Highly organized and process-oriented ;
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in high-pressure situations ;
  • Strong knowledge of health codes and food safety ;
  • Knowledge of FileMaker| Keynote | SharePoint | Smartsheets | Microsoft Teams | Zoom ;
  • Flexibility and positive attitude to work long days, evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary ;
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn software ;
  • Presently resides in France (or is willing to relocate to France).
